Tory Burchis at the top of her game, with collection after collection garnering rave reviews from the fashion community at large; an endless array of top influencers, from Emily Ratajkowski to Alix Earle, wearing her designs; and multiple viral items with her name on their labels. In other words, I'm not alone in my admiration for the New York–based designer, which is why her brandwas the perfect choice for Let's Get a Room's first foray into the luxury space. I couldn't help myself. After all, given how much time I spend in its multi-floor, home-like Mercer Street boutique for personal reasons (i.e., I can't stop shopping the brand's current spring/summer 2023 sale selection), a proper excuse became not just warranted but necessary.

That's how I ended up taking over two dressing rooms on the third floor of the TB townhouse late one Tuesday night, sipping prosecco and Pellegrino while putting together outfits from the currently-on-display F/W 23 offering as well as holiday-ready dresses, handbags, and shoes. Simply put, I entered into heaven, one where there's no such thing as too many gold accessories, Tory Burch's pierced-toe heels aren'talmost sold out, and my entire wardrobe bears her name. This set genuinely took my breath away when I first saw it on the runway, so naturally, I've been waiting patiently to see it in real life for quite some time. Let's just say it lived up to the seemingly insurmountable level of hype I'd built up in my head—and then some. Like actual lingerie, the top of the set has structure to it. It includes built-in cups and a mesh bodice that holds you in all the right places, giving anyone wearing it an hourglass-like silhouette. Meanwhile, the skirt is simple in shape but nonetheless eye-catching due to the almost trippy print. It could easily be styled solo in order to get more out of the investment. I love it paired with this very elegant handbag and matching black pierced pumps.

To me, Tory Burch's F/W 23 collection was all about wearability, but not the sort we saw on other runways that same season—looks that were simple and pared back, especially compared to what their respective designers typically create. This collection is neither simple nor pared back. Itis for people who know how powerful styling is and how you can transform something as simple as a sweater and some jeans with it. This ensemble is proof of that in my eyes. In reality, it's just dark-wash jeans worn with a button-down shirt and a sweater, but the result is much more worthy of praise. Add this XL shopper tote, a trend that's gaining serious traction in 2023, and these viral pierced-toe slingbacks and you pretty much have the perfect womenswear look. It'll take you from day to night and elicit compliments at every turn.

I take holiday-dress shopping very seriously. Though there isn't necessarily one specific dress code for the season, you always know when yousee a stellar holiday dress that it was made for the exact purpose of wowing between the months of November and January. Case in point: this velvet-detail, corset-waist LBD that caught my eye immediately when I walked inside the store. I love the subtleness of the velvet, a fabric that can easily take over an outfit. It's a perfect match for these gold heels that I've been eyeing for weeks. Normally, I'd say that gold accessories with a black velvet dress are too on the nose for this time of year, but for some reason, it just works here. Call it a holiday miracle.

This look, to me, is like an elegant, refined version of the very specific autumnal style made famous by '90s and early 2000s TV shows like Felicity and Gilmore Girls. Long skirts, tall boots, and semi-chunky sweaters are all paramount to capturing this aughts-inspired aesthetic, but while all three are featured here, there's a definite togetherness and elegance in this one compared tothe more casual ensembles seen on both shows. Plus, the red bag and safety-pin closure make for small-but-mighty additions that really tie the entire outfit together—don't you think?
