Ingredients for this Peanut Sauce

This recipe is made with affordable and simple ingredients that you probably already have on hand. Plus is perfect for meal prepping and you can store in your fridge to enjoy all week long!

Here’s what you’ll need:

Peanut Butter: The star of the show! I like using creamy and natural peanut butter for this recipe. Keep in mind, that the creamier the peanut butter, the smoother your sauce will be.

This might sound a bit ridiculous that I am offering you an alternative to swap out peanut butter for a peanut sauce recipe.

BUT if allergic to peanut butter sub for cashew butter. It will keep the creaminess and it is also delicious. I used cashew butter in my Pad Thai sauce. So I can promise you it works great!

Coconut Aminos: My favorite gluten-free and soy-free alternative. You can also use soy sauce or tamari. If using soy sauce, I recommend using a low sodium to keep this recipe from getting too salty.

Sesame Oil: Just a little bit is enough to add a complex nutty flavor!

Cane Sugar or Honey

Rice Vinegar: Provides a tangy and acidic flavor and is so important to balance out the flavors.

Garlic: Adds so much flavor! I love using minced fresh garlic for this recipe, but you can also use garlic powder here.

Ginger: It adds freshness to this sauce! You can use ginger powder if you don’t have fresh ginger on hand.

Water or Broth

Chili Paste (optional): For heat! Everyone’s taste buds are different. I love adding 1 – 2 tsp chili oil which gives it even more depth and a little kick. If you don’t like spicy, you can omit chili paste.
